Annual Dinner and Fundraiser
"Leap Into the Future" at the Annual Dinner and Fundraiser on Friday, February 8 where highlights of the past year are celebrated along with goals for the upcoming year. The evening features dinner, community awards and a silent auction. All members, employees and guest are invited to join in for the fun filled night. Business After Hours
If you are looking to network and grow your business, Business After Hours lets you relax and socialize inside of a different business each time. Sponsors invite you, your employees and coworkers and guests into their business each month. Contact Kay for more information.

  • Eggs N Issues
    Chamber of Commerce members are invited for a small group discussion with legislators including Representatives Dennis Cohon and Tom Sands and Senator Tom Courtney for a discussion on the issues concerning the Great River Region. Eggs & Issues will help our laegislators understand the business community's state and regional issues for the upcoming year. Eggs N Issues is held at 7:15 a.m. on third Saturday of the month January through April. Contact Brenda for more information

    Great River Region Days
    Representatives from Southeast Iowa will return to Des Moines and Washington, D.C. to carry legislative priorities for the region to State Representatives, State Senators and key department personnel. Key issues being taken to Des Moines this year include property tax reform, the Ft. Madison Prison, Right to Work, workforce attraction and development and transportation issues.     5th Grade Career Fair and 8th Grade Project Cape
    In hopes to allow students to further explore career options and see the connection between what they are learning now and how to apply those lessons to different careers, the 5th Grade Career Fair and 8th Grade Project Cape (Career Awareness Partners in Education) are held each year.     New Rural Realties
    Farmers, value-added ag employees, city council members and leaders are invited to attend. Outside speakers are featured on topics covered include rural entrepreneurship, retaining existing business in rural areas, and accessing financial resources. Contact Brenda for more information.

    Learn and Discover
    This member session give you a chance to hear about the Greater Burlington Partnership, current projects, community information and ask any questions you may have. Sessions are held at various times throughout the year and hosted by the Chamber Ambassadors. Contact Brenda for more information.

    Small Business Appreciation Breakfast
    Any business with fewer than 100 employees is considered a small business. Those small businesses make up over 80% of the membership in the Burlington/West Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce. Each year in May, small businesses are recognized at the breakfast with awards and a keynote speaker is featured. Contact Brenda for more information.

    Port of Burlington Friday Fest
    This Friday after-hours celebration brings a variety of live music, food and fun to the Port of Burlington! Dates in 2008 are May 23, June 27, July 11, August 1, August 22, and September 5. Admission is FREE! Contact Shelly for more information.

    Riverfront Farmers' Market

    26th Annual Snake Alley Criterium
    Voted the 5th Best Criterium in the U.S. by a national cycling magazine, the weekend of racing excitement gets under way Friday, May 23, with the 80-mile Burlington Road Race. On Saturday, watch top cyclists from throughout the U.S. as they race up Snake Alley, "the crookedest street in the world." Contact Tricia for more information.. May 23-24, 2008

    Heritage Days

    Manufacturer's Appreciation Luncheon
    The Greater Burlington Area has a number of Manufacturer's who employ thousands of workers and helps stimulate our local economy. The Luncheon, held each October, focuses on those companies and the successes they have throughout the year. A Manufacturer of the Year is awarded in addition to recycling awards.
